The sound of the gun cocked for action made him turn. That was the very first time he had a barrel of a gun pointed at him.

Surprise.

Shock. Then an unexplained calm took over his body.

Both of his hands were quickly up in the air as a sign of surrender to the assailant.

He had heard of robbery incidents turn ugly because the robber felt the victim was been hostile. Who would not feel hostile with a gun in their face? The calm was still there.

“Wallet”

The first word of the assailant. He had heard of robbery incidents turn ugly because victims didn’t give the robbers what they wanted. He slowly reached for his back pocket and retrieved the object requested. Placed it in the robber’s stretched hand. He was still calm, unflinching.

“Watch”

The second word of the assailant. He heard of robbery incidents go wrong when the time was wasted. He quickly unfastened the expensive wristwatch and into the outstretched hand, it went. Nobody would come to his mercy this lonely forsaken night. Least it was almost over. He still remained calm.

“Look away”

The third word from the assailant. He heard of robbery incidents that led to deaths by the victim trying to look at the face of the robber. His face looked straight to his dirty shoes and he put his hands down as the assailant's footsteps started to move away slowly. Finally over. Calm

“Bracelet”

The fourth word of the assailant. He was surprised that the robber paused a few steps away. The bracelet was hidden with his arms up. He heard of robbery incidents that the robber was very detailed and left nothing to the victim. He was not going to let go of this one. It was special to him. He looked calmly in the robber's eyes through his balaclava.

“Never”

His first word to the assailant was his last to the world

“BANG”

Then silence.

Ultimate calm.
